Cash Donations
Whether a one-time gift or recurring monthly contributions, your donation can be paid by check, money order or cash. For more information click here.
Stock
If you have highly appreciated stock, you may find it more cost-effective to donate stock.
By contributing the stock, you save the capital gains tax you would otherwise be subject to if the stock were sold. You are also entitled to an income tax charitable deduction for the full market value of the stock on the date of your gift.

Gift-In-Kind Donation Program

Planned Giving
A substantial gift to Amachi Pittsburgh may be structured in a number of different ways so that you may receive income and enjoy immediate and significant tax advantages. For more detailed information about some of the Planned Giving instruments or agreements you may want to consider, click here.
Charitable Gift Annuity: With this arrangement, you transfer cash or securities to Amachi Pittsburgh in exchange for quarterly payments to you or your designated beneficiary. A charitable gift annuity provides you with a guaranteed annual income, a substantial portion of which is tax-free, as well as potential estate tax savings.
Deferred Gift Annuity: This type of annuity provides an excellent retirement plan because it allows you to claim an immediate income tax deduction while deferring receipt of income for a number of years. When the annuity matures, the principal is available to Amachi Pittsburgh.
Charitable Remainder Trust: A charitable remainder trust is an irrevocable agreement by which you transfer property to be managed by a trustee and in which a charitable beneficiary is named.
Charitable Lead Trust: A charitable lead trust is the reverse of a charitable remainder trust in that the income generated is given to Amachi Pittsburgh for a period of years, after which time the property reverts to you or your beneficiaries.

Matching Gifts
Some businesses and organizations participate in a Matching Gifts program. As participants, they have a policy to match donations made to the 501(c)(3) organizations by employees, retirees, spouses, and/or widows or widowers.
Individuals wishing to make a financial gift to Amachi Pittsburgh may have the opportunity to double their gift simply by meeting the criteria of a participating company. Each company has its own set of policies involving Matching Gifts, so please check with the human resources office of your company to find out its specific rules or to obtain a Matching Gift form.
